BYD is a global heavyweight in the electric vehicle space. When entering the highly competitive UAE market, the directive wasn’t just to launch—it was to completely dominate the sector in record time. Working alongside their local distributor, we were tasked with bridging the gap between massive global brand assets and the hyper-local, luxury-driven culture of Dubai and the wider UAE.

Objective

We engineered a synchronized offline-to-online rollout. We secured prime real estate with high-impact billboards across the UAE's main arteries, paired with the introduction of exclusive BYD models at strategic pop-ups and regional partnerships. Digitally, we built a hybrid funnel:

  • Global BOF & Local TOF: We leveraged BYD’s polished global assets for hard-hitting Bottom-of-Funnel conversion ads. To feed the top of the funnel, we shot highly raw, localized UGC—featuring local celebrities experiencing Dubai in a BYD, instantly creating regional trust.

  • The "Anti-Tesla" Influencer Deployment: Unlike competitors who avoid paid media, we went all-in. We orchestrated massive launch campaigns activating 30+ creators simultaneously.

  • Cross-Vertical Authority: We didn't just use luxury lifestyle influencers. We aggressively targeted mid-tier and macro creators, tech reviewers, and automotive YouTubers to build undeniable, multi-angle social proof.

Challenge

Global campaigns rarely translate perfectly to local markets. The challenge was hitting astronomical sales targets within a highly compressed timeline, while competing against established legacy brands (like Lexus) and EV competitors (like Tesla) that rely on completely different marketing philosophies. We had to create an immediate, inescapable brand presence both online and offline.

Result

Total market takeover. BYD rapidly became the dominant electric vehicle brand in the UAE. Our hyper-localized trust campaigns drove an aggressive 100%+ YoY growth rate. The strategy didn't just win over consumers; it dominated the B2B sector, causing major local driver-on-demand fleets to completely switch their infrastructure from legacy competitors like Lexus over to BYD.
